Do i need to pay the full amount upfront?
Sene offers a variety of payment options. In a ddition to paying the full amoubt upfront, we also offer solar leasing where we install solar panels your rooftop for no money down.
In return, the homeowner will pay a fee for the rights to use all the electricity the panels produce for a set period of time, usually between 15 and 25 years. Once this lease is over, the arrangement ends and the homeowner has no further financial liability.
Depending on the specifics of the lease, fees may be paid monthly, yearly, or in a lump sum. Monthly payments are the most common choice.
Can i get paid for excess electricity exported to the grid?
Yes, all customers whether contestable or non-contestable can enjoy net settlement (i.e rebate) for export of excess solar PV energy
What happens if i decide to sell my building?
In the event where you sell your building, there a few possible options. The preferred option is for the agreement to be transferred over to the new owner. In the rare occasion where the new tenant does not want to keep the system
What happens to our agreement if the grid price fluctuate?
Normally, customers prefer to have a fixed rate with mutually agreeable escalation factor. This acts as a hedge to grid price fluctuation. Different pricing structures exist and are also available if required.
What type of panel is the most cost effective?
Mono-perc prices have dropped significantly and the demand has gained traction to the point that many manufacturers have converted most of their production lines to mono-perc driving up the volume and further reducing the cost. Hence mono-perc is currently the moist cost effective cell technology.
What is the simple payback period for a Solar PV system
Depending on the size of the system and the future grid tariff, for systems of above 100 kWp , the straight payback period can range from 7 to 9 years, excluding interest on the investment.
What are the typical warranties for Solar Panels
Solar panels typically carry a product warranty of 10 years and a power warranty of up to 25 or even 30 years. The power warranty may be step or linear. For step warranty, typical guaranteed figures are 90% output power for first 10 years and 80% for next 15 years. For linear power warranty, typical figures are 2.5 to 3% power degradation at year one and not more than 0.7% power degradation per year from year 2 to 25.
How do solar panels work?
Solar PV panels are made up of many solar cells. Solar cells are made of silicon, like semiconductors. They are constructed with a positive layer and a negative layer, which together create an electric field, just like in a battery. When photons from sunlight hit a solar cell, they knock electrons loose from their atoms. If conductors are attached to the positive and negative sides of a cell, it forms an electrical circuit. When electrons flow through such a circuit, they generate electricity. Multiple cells make up a solar panel, and multiple panels (modules) can be wired together to form a solar array. The more panels you can deploy, the more energy you can expect to generate.
How do clouds affect Solar Panel Performance?
Clouds reduce the intensity of irradiance falling on the solar panels. When calculating the energy yeiled of salar panel sysytem, we take cloud cover into account. We use the average irradiation on a sunny day(4.30-4.44 kWh/m2 per day) and average irradiation on a cloudy/rainy day ( 1-6.5 kWh/m2) in order to calculate the energy yield for a solar system.
How will I know how much power is being produced?
We will install a meter where the power generated from the system will be injected into your electrical system. The data from that meter will be accessible and shared with you and will form the basis of the monthly invoice.
How long will my Solar System last?
We design our system to last beyond 30 years.
What is the optimum tilt angle in Singapore?
Since Singapore’s latitude is only about 1 deg north of the equator, the panels just have to face flat and horizontal to receive incident sunlight. However, it’s good practice to tilt them at an angle of about 5 to 10 degree to promote self-washing by rain.
What is the difference between cell efficiency and module efficiency?
Cell efficiency refers to the conversion efficiency of the output power of one cell (typically 125 x 125 mm) whereas module efficiency refers to the conversion efficiency of an entire module (typically 60 cells or 72 cells).
What is Irradiation?
Irradiation is the measure of sunlight energy over a period of time. For example, the typical average daily irradiation in Singapore is about 4.38 kWh/ m2. This is equivalent to a peak intensity of 1000 W/m2 or 1 kW/m2 for a duration of 4.38 hours or simply 4.38 peak sun hours (PSH).
The annual irradiation is Singapore was observed to range between 1580 to 1620 kWh/m2. This works out to average of between 4.32 to 4.44 kWh.m2 per day
What is Irradiance?
Irradiance is a measure of the instantaneous sunlight intensity in W/ m2 . The peak irradiance occurs at solar noon at about 1 pm. On a sunny day, the peak irradiance is about 1000 to 1200 W/ m2
Do I need to make any modifications to the roof?
In most cases, roof modifications are not required. Our team will asses your roof and when confirmed suitable we will make the necessary arrangements
Do I need to clean the system myself?

How often does the system require cleaning?
Depending on your location, the system would require cleaning 2-3 times a year.
